Oasty
I went to school for Computer Science and Physics but I've been vaguely interested in making things for years. I got started on YouTube with memes and references but I'm going to try more original stuff here.

Every time I try to start something, I get waaayy too overzealous and never even get started. Or, when I do get started, get discouraged by the first thing that isn't 100% perfect on the first try, and give up.

Then, in a fit of mania last night, I came up with a bunch of ideas for things I wanted to do; from real life accomplishments to game projects to stuff to put on a resume, and within that I came up with a challenge for the week. A very simple challenge I'm forcing myself to follow through on by writing this very post :3

"Travelling Cube Week". (I wish I had a better title.) Each day I'm gonna come up with some simple or zany way a cube ~goes somewhere~ and make that in Blender. The goal is to put out a pleasing looping animation, one a day. Maybe I'll add some mediocre music that fits. I know I should never take for granted how much work goes into even simple things, so I'll make a full writeup for every day, describing my math to get evenly spaced bumps on a tire, tracking to a spline for tank treads, whatever comes up.

Starting... NOW

Heya. Between trying out Blender 2.8, watching a thought-provoking video about self-improvement from JaidenAnimations, and now that whole Tumblr thing going on with Newgrounds looking like it could be the place to be, I'm making an account here. I first watched Oney and Egoraptor cartoons on YouTube and later really grew to respect all the effort that people put into their art here when I started listening to SleepyCast. I honestly never visited Newgrounds, I was far too straightedge to do more than watch a swearing cartoon once in a blue moon, and my "artistic" output was just on Youtube. While I am proud of that, it was all so derivative. Ancient memes, references and covers, trying to appeal to a niche yet mass audience. For the longest time I've been trying to push myself to make more original stuff, and I'm kind of at a place where I can do that now.
